terminology:
temporary storage: a DDIFlatDB for importing of dataset files only
internal central storage: DDIFlatDB, containing study, questionnaire and variable information in DDI
external central storage: All published and versioned information's like the DBK/ExploreData currently provides
dataset file: The actual stata or SPSS file
variables: from the imported dataset file read variables

## UC 1: Import dataset file
This use case is about importing the dataset files. In the view you can select a study or not and the file is loaded from the disk. Some statistics and errors are/should be shown. The information is stored in the temporary DDIFlatDB. The import always overwrites the latest import of the same file. The upload is only visible for the uploading user.
## UC 2: Connect a dataset file with a study in DBK
A dataset file can be imported either given an existing study or without a study. An existing study can be selected from the DBK catalogue within the DDIFlatDB.
It is also possible to select an already imported dataset file and connect it after the import.
## UC 3: Publish imported variables from a given dataset file to the internal storage
After the dataset file is imported the variables and the connection with study is done, the variables can be transferred for further documentation to the internal storage
## UC 4: Connect a dataset file with an questionnaire
The published variables are connected with a questionnaire. If the questionnaire does not exists, the questionnaire can be created by the user.
The creation of the questionnaire can be supported by the variable import, as they contain e.g. already answers, see
#UC 5: Create a questionnaire given the information of the variable import
During the variable import a list of variables including the answers are imported. These should be used during the creation of the questionnaire.
#UC 6: Connect an existing questionnaire with variables
The imported variables presented in a view should be connected with the questionnaire
#UC 7: Document a variable:
*
generate frequency tables
*
add classification documentation
*
...

#UC 8: Upload additional material to a variable or question |
